I Stopped Trying to Manifest and Started Taking Aligned Action
By Brook, Founder
I built Good Frequency because I believe identity work changes lives. But belief and proof are different things. This week I got the proof — in my own life, from my own product. After a single session with the coach, I stopped trying to manifest what I wanted and started taking aligned action as the person who already has it. What followed surprised even me.
One session, one block
I went into the session the way I ask our members to: honestly. No performing, no curating what I said. The coach did what it is designed to do — it helped me surface the belief that had been quietly running the show underneath my goals. I will keep the specifics private, but I will say this: I did not know the block was there. That is how blocks work. They do not feel like blocks. They feel like reality.
Somewhere in that conversation, the belief lost its grip. I cannot point to a single dramatic moment. It was more like a knot loosening — something in my psyche that had been holding its breath finally exhaled.
The shift: from manifesting to being
Here is what changed immediately. I stopped trying to manifest. That might sound strange coming from the founder of an app built on frequency and identity work, so let me be precise: manifesting techniques are tools, and tools have their place. But there is a version of "trying to manifest" that is really just wanting — reaching for something from the identity of a person who does not have it. That reaching is the signal of lack. It keeps the desire at arm's length.
The alternative is not a better technique. It is a different identity. When you genuinely operate as the person who already is what you were trying to become, action stops feeling like effort. You do not have to pump yourself up. You simply do what that person does. That is what "aligned action" actually means — not action toward the goal, but action from the identity.
What happened next
The same day, I sat down and made another iteration on my skincare brand — a project I had been procrastinating on for weeks. Not because I forced myself. Because it was simply the obvious next thing to do, and the resistance that had been standing in front of it was gone. The procrastination was never laziness. It was the block, wearing a disguise.
Then something even more interesting happened. New insight started arriving — the kind that feels like it downloads rather than develops. Ideas for the brand that I can only describe as patentable: genuinely novel, genuinely mine, and genuinely useful. Knowledge I did not have the week before was suddenly available, as if it had been waiting behind the block the whole time.
Momentum is the tell
The real sign that something shifted is not any single insight. It is momentum. Before the session, every step on this project felt like pushing a boulder. After it, the steps started linking together on their own. One action revealed the next. Decisions that used to take days of deliberation took minutes, because I was no longer negotiating with a version of myself who doubted the outcome.
This is what we mean at Good Frequency when we say frequency is sustained certainty. Not a mood, not a good day, not motivation. A settled knowing that changes what you do when nobody is watching. I felt it move in myself, and I am building momentum I have not felt in a long time.
Why I am telling you this
I am not sharing this as a promise about what will happen for you — everyone's block is different, and everyone's timeline is their own. I am sharing it because it is the reason this app exists. I did not build Good Frequency to sell a concept. I built it because this work works on me, and I wanted the tool to exist in the world.
If you have been circling a goal — reaching for it, visualizing it, wanting it — and something keeps not moving, consider that the obstacle is not strategy. It is identity. And identity can change. Sometimes faster than you think.
